Post 60: I went out!

Today I actually went out - to friends' place for lunch. I felt adventurous. It's 38 days since I arrived back from England. This is the first time I have socialised in a face to face setting since arriving back. There were four of us - two hosts and two visitors. We kept our distance at all times. This is legal in South Australia where gatherings of up to 10 people are still possible. In other States the limit is 2 people.

We had a delicious lunch. I was enjoying myself and forgot to take photos until the desert, which was Pannacotta with rhubarb sorbet.

It was wonderful to sit outside, 2 metres apart, and talk as we always do, to share plans, experiences and concerns. I don't mind being on my own, but I do miss this connection and exchange.

This post will be a bit thin, because the morning was taken up answering emails and preparing to go out, the afternoon talking and just enjoying the rare time with friends.

Food figured in my emails as well. One of my Guild friends baked bread. She used the Pane Cafone mix from Silvia Colloca’s book and turned it into a baguette to have with soup. I think it looks great.

It's interesting how much baking is happening.

No news of Jennifer today. This was expected. There was not going to be much news until the 48 hours steroid treatment is up.

I took hexies with me to my friends' place and managed to tack a few sets.

Since returning home I've made some progress on the Mellerstain screen. It's not quite enough to scroll up but getting there.

I am falling asleep, so enough for tonight.
